A Web Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing a website or collection of websites. For instance, a company will maintain a website so individuals can find the products and services of the company that may be of interest.

Web administrators are responsible for overseeing a Web site and Web server. A Web administrator will also be in charge of keeping the Web site running well and even.

Skills Required

Ideally a Web administrator will have a good knowledge of networking, including installation, configuration and administration. It is also desirable that Web administrators have knowledge and are well versed in such areas as Website security and troubleshooting.

Work Hours and Environment

A Web Administrator can work as part of a team as well as on his or her own, that will depend on the size and demand of the company. Hours may vary from the usual 9:00 to 17:00 as well as over hour shifts. That will depend on demand as Web Administrators are critical to keep a good Web site going.

Salary
